Basic Flash Photography Workshop
Workshop #6 in the Source Photography Workshop Series™
Source Photography’s Basic Flash Photography Workshop is a comprehensive, hands-on instructional workshop designed to teach you the fundamentals every photographer needs to know about using an external flash unit and properly exposing their images – indoors and out – and build your skills and confidence as a photographer.
During our 3-hour instructional workshop we will teach you how to use the most important features of your flash, how to adjust settings, what they are used for, and how they work in conjunction with your camera to produce a properly exposed image. We will give you a solid understanding of TTL (through-the-lens) versus manual flash photography, demonstrate how line-of-sight infrared and wireless transmitters work, and show you how simple light modifiers like beauty dishes, reflectors, softboxes, and umbrellas can turn your shots into professionally lit images.
As you learn and practice, we will also show you ways to move your flash off your camera, including how to create an inexpensive portable lighting system that can serve as a mobile. Regardless of your skill level, once you take our Basic Flash Photography Workshop your photos will improve dramatically and you’ll never be hesitant to use your camera’s most important accessory again.
